I thought the bearings are an interference fit on the stem head and would need to be tensioned as they are installed on the stem head? Then the top hat would be just a dust seal?

Being a Db4 owner as well I was interested in what the exhaust looked like from the back... Its a shame that Ludwig didn't send us that photo.

Its nice to have clean lens again...especially on iconic 916 etc headlight units...as they always go milkey….Shower cleaner spray....yup....that would work.....just be sure its bone dry afterwards.... ...

Yeah Steve I too was not sure where the choke knob was located...the " Bible" shows its on the triple clamp... so the break in the cable is probably around the bottom of the steering tube wh ...

I would pull the old cable out... go to your local bike shop and buy the parts you need... put it together including soldering if needed. I replaced all the cables on my DB1 this way.

Yeah the caps on each end screw off allowing you to pull it apart... clean it out and fill it up with fork oil.

I've just done the steering head bearings on my DB1 and also changed the oil in the steering damper... the action in the damper certainly feels smoother now.
