My fix was installing an stainless 10 mm allen bolt with lockingnut, at the end of sidestand foot ... |

Do You still have the problem with: not being able to accelerate over 5000 rpm ?.
but OK in low revs ?
If so - have you checket the carb diapgrames for holes/cracks ?

There is a high risk of You having a bad connection from main harness (brakelight switches) to your tail unit. on SB6 its a 6 wire connector close to the chain (lots of dirt water dust)

When I got my SB6 (mk1) - there was also just 1 ignition key. And one seat hump key.
The ignition cylinder was hard to unlock, so I simply found a new one on ebay. Rather cheap with 3 keys. Brand n ... |

Yes its a gixxer. Or at least it is on te Mk 1 model.
I simply replaced the worn original with suzuki part - OEM = Cheap.
