Maybe a R6 sender could be modified to work.

Maybe a unit like this is close but still not right. A reed unit. http://www.moellermarine.com/aftermarket/fuel_systems/fuel_senders/

Sorry to drag up this way old post, but i did a search and thought this one was a good one to add my info to.

I have the tanks off both the sb6 and db4 at the moment so i removed both senders to compare them. They both look basically the same (same as in oily's pics above). The sb6 sender tube is 60mm long and the db4 tube is 135mm long. I have no idea how the thing works or what stops them working! Both of mine seem to flicker with engine revs. I'll probably just disconnect them when they become too eratic.

Drag away Brian.......... Laughing

They work by having a reed switch in the tube, which is the bit that brakes and a magnet in the float to open/close the reed switch.
If I can figure a way to get them apart, fixing them should not be too difficult Wink

Exactly. And look what I found recently! It looks exavtly like the one I bought from bimota for the SB6 (bimota part no 215000778).
The plug looks like the one on the V-due though.

It seems that it is a Paioli item.

I wondered myself if the senders were Paioli. My db4 has a vacuum fuel valve on the bottom of the tank which has Paioli cast into the housing. By the way, the vacuum fuel valve isn't working either so maybe another reason to think it is the same brand as the senders Mad .

Does your fuel valve look anything like the SB6 version?

...If so, it's easy enough to make your own diaphragm Wink

No, my db4 has a plain tap the comes out of the tank then a hose goes to the vacuum valve which just bolts to the bottom of the tank. It's a weird looking contraption. I'll take some pics tomorrow arvo and post when i get time.
