Dumb question # 134
OK Im not used to these water boiler engines. Confused Embarassed

The cooling system. Is there a fill mark on the expansion tank etc?
How do I know if it has enough coolent in?
What coolent do you all use? Premixed specialist stuff or just good old water and antifreez?

OK so thats three questions.

Thanks in advance,

Si...

Not sure what the manual says but as long as it's got some in it when it's cold and it doesn't overflow when it's hot..........

As it's an "expansion" tank, I keep about an 1" in mine which leaves loads of room for expansion Wink

I use MOUTUL pre-mixed but any QUALITY anti freeze/inhibitor will do.
Seem some really chocked up, shitty cooling systems so good quality stuff is important Wink

If I'm only checking the level or just adding a "bit"...I just pull the screen off, break my wrist in 3 places and I can shine a torch in the filler and check/fill a little easier than dropping the fairing Wink

Thanks for the tip about pulling the sreen off,
Not to bad access, (no I didnt have to break my writs 3 times)
Length of tube and a funnel, quick top up and it all seems ok.
I think I will have to flush the system at some point, but not just yet.
Thanks again.
