Aww c,mon - there's a few Closet Mantra lovers on here !!
I've had one, and may probably get another someday....
Its a great bike to ride - just don't look at your reflection in the shop windows. And who would confess to doing that anyway ???i
Not to argue with the Guru here, but the yellow one here looks like one of the later (series 2) models ??
The year listed (2002) is obviously yr registered, not manufactured. They'd stopped by 1999.
In the States, the Series 1 had Marchisini wheels, the Series 2 those gawd-awful Anteras that Bimota was trying to use up.... (rumor is they had to take a 'minimum order' of 1000).
Series 1 had silver headlight surrounds.
The later 'bat-wing' fairing was a factory supplied upgrade. I had one on my 1997 Series 1 (#11).
I'll get me Anorak then... |

At least you came out of the closet on your own Jeremy... although the concept was ahead of its time, no matter how I look at it, its still the only ugly Bim I can think of. _________________ Pomps

Hi Jeremy.
I'm not the Mantra guru, just an owner. I class the MK1's as those having the # plate / licence plate on the rear wheel hugger / fender, as per the yellow bike. The red bike is what I class a Mk2, where the # plate / licence plate is attached to the rear of the seat unit. Having repaired several fatigue-induced cracks in my "Mk1"'s rear hugger, I know why they changed the design!

I think the "Mantra guru" was a spell check interposition for "Mantra Ugly" Made the same mistake once when the girlfriend asked me how she looked |

Ha ha, guys, I think you are a little too harsh towards my beloved Mantra... She is the most beautiful creature in the bike industry! Mind the wording...creature...
And drives like a sports bike! She lacks power towards today's motors (I had a B-King before...) but in slower sweeps she can still eat a today's sports bike for breakfast.
