Hello all,
Thanks to 2bims for his time helping us with the feature - I know you've all seen it unfold on this site, but hopefully you'll enjoy it all laid out in print with our pictures (which look great, by the way).
I'll still be lurking around the site - obviously I have little to contribute in terms of Bimota knowledge, but we'll definitely be touching upon other Bimotas in due course, so I may be sending more emails out to speak to the right owners when the time comes. My email is chris.newbigging@bauermedia.co.uk, if you'd like to ask about the mag, tell us about your bikes or whatever in the meantime. And yes, we know Bimotas aren't strictly practical. But some of them have a little cubby hole. And moreover, we don't care, because they're ace!
Cheers
Chris Newbigging, Features Editor. |

welcome aboard, Chris. You already know me - I've "swapped" RGV carbs with you, arranged for you to borrow VJ21 bodywork and am the builder of the much vaunted, almost ledgendary RGV-V4.
There is only one practical Bimota - comes in yellow/black or red/black, is powered by an l-twin motor and is described by non-believers as being aesthetically challenged. What do they know?! If you need a Bimota to take you out of your country, rather than out of your county, its the only choice.
If you are interested in any Bimota technical features - especially engine removal / replacement - there are several chaps on here who undertake it on an almost monthly basis.................. I can put you in touch. _________________ Bimota SB6 and Benelli TNT 899S road bikes.
Beta Techno trials iron. Project bikes:- Suzuki V4 500, TS185 cafe racer, XR11/71, Kettle/Katana, TDRGV250, OR50, Gag125,Triumph T595 and a Triumph X75 Hurricane replica.
Too many projects............... |

Hi Gaz, seeing as Bauer MEdia own "Bike" magazine, as well as MCN , classic Bikes, Performance Bikes and Practical Sportsbikes, they could do a revisit on your Mantra, as featured in your Bike mag Avatar, as indeed your bike is the very same bike, reg no etc, check your other mags to see if there are other copies also. The photographer "weeble" is a closet fan of Mantras (and Aprilia 6.5 Moto, that I also like) so would be interested in your bike at least, and yeh he recalled swopping carbs with you
