Well here is a question for you SB "experts". Do you know what glue/filler they company used to join the frame to the aluminium swinging arm hanger on the SB4??? Having taken the bike to pieces the tubes are bolted to the aluminium carrier but they have glue/filler in the joint as well. It is a grey colour and looks like hardened 3 bond or plastic padding but I guess it pre-dates either being 1984.

It may be worth having a word with dave pearce of tigcraft ,he built the prototype frame for the mz scorpion that had glued together sections .

I know that in the aircraft structure sometimes glue / filler is used to prevent contact corrosion.

That’s normally don when two dissimilar metals are in contact. It’s because of the electro-potential voltage of the metals.

In your case I would say it’s more for prevent contact corrosion than structural strength.

If you want I can look for the best glue to use in your case.

That would be great. There is a decent bit of a gap around the aluminium joint area so it isobviously a filler as well as adhesive . Ive followed up the other few leads but still waiting for that elusive response from Bimota!!!

Yes they are truly shocking in their support - I don't know why as I've been to the factory twice and they were great. Even tried to sell me a load of crated sb8 engines!
