£4800, you can't be serious, this is just a 750 version of the FZR1000 Genesis is it not?

If it is indeed an FZR750R OW1 then it is something a little special,
But it dont look like one to me.
The Swing Arm looks wrong ?
The Body Work looks wrong ?
They were about 13+K when new back in 1988
Introduced to beat Hondas dominance of WSB.

It's not the OW01.
I vaguely recall they were a model that ran along side the FZ750 but weren't imported into this country. It could be a Japanese or US market bike - the US also got a 750 "Hurricane" a version of the CBR1000 that was later redesigned as the FireBlade.
I think they are rare but not sure it's £4800 rare. The Japan 750's were limited hp and I think the rear tyre size too (???)

poor sod has been misinformed. owo1 had a single seat and no pillion pegs and a lot of other differences. a genuine article is worth silly money these days.

Hi

Possible his price is related the value of bikes in Finland. Not sure if they have silly taxes on import.

Not an OW01 (and a fraction of the price of an OW01). However it is an FZR750 which I think were a standard model in some countries. Sold in Japan but were restricted there. Very similar to the FZR1000 we got in the UK, but the 750 had adjustable forks and a few other upgrades from memory

All the best

Keith

I owned one of these back then. 200 units were produced each year in 1987 and 1988, which was the minimum # of units for production-based racing at the time. They were much closer to a FZR1000, not the FZ750. Close-ratio transmission and other goodies. The FZR750R-R OW-01 came out in 1989.

They are going up in value over here. I have seen a few in the $10,000 - $12,000 USD range.

Don't make fun of my red windscreen, it was 1989 fashion! This is with the stock wheels, 18" rear and 17" front.

This picture shows the 17" Performance Machine wheels I put on it.
