The meeting point is Pisa airport at 10.30pm on the start date of your tour. From the meeting point we are taken by the support vehicle to the DucatiTours' base for a briefing and the allocation of bikes.

The first afternoon takes us to the Apennine route "Il Brennero" to Modena, where we will jon the autostrada for approx 80 minutes ride to near the first hotel situated on the shore of Lake Iseo. The first ride (until the autostrada) is used by the guides to ensure that everyone is comfortable with the bikes and roads.

The Iseo location places right at the heart of some serious mountains and even more serious roads Our destination is Bormio at the start of the Stelvio pass, but we dont need to be there until the end of the day. Therefore we will be riding the Madonna di Campiglio, Passo Tonale, Passo D 'Aprica and many others. Anyone not used to hairpins will be by the end of the day!

Over the mighty Stelvio (weather allowing!) and many other mountain passes winding through the Swiss alps towards Geneva. The overnight halt will be in Switzerland around Martigny.

Time for more Alpine road riding, but this time in France - luckily all mainland Europeans drive on the same side of the road or this would start to get complicated! The route takes us through Geneva and up the hills of the north shore of Lac Leman. We continue north for a while before a sharp left and a new heading towards Chambery for this evening's stop over.

Today we head South through the Hautes-Provence with our destination being Montecarlo. We are booked into our selected hotel just outside the principality for two nights so people can spend the next day in town, riding the intersting mountain roads of the area or down to the beach!

The last full day takes us back into Italy and down the Ligurian coastline, past Ventimiglia, San Remo, Genova, Portofino (for lunch) and on to Lucca for our customary farewell dinner held at Lucca's best restaurant.

A great time….
