...I'm struggling with having to keep scrolling from side to side to look at some pictures on the forum.
Is this me...my computer...or the poster can't be arsed to re-size their pictures to a sensible, forum friendly size?
if it's my puter, how do I sort it?

agreed Oily, but how do you make the piccis smaller on the forum from photobucket when all you do is add an image code? _________________ KB1x2, SB3 SB4 BB1 DB2 Vdue Evo YB11 RB1 Ducati MHR Suzi GS650 |

Photobucket has the facility to re-size your pictures when you upload them
Seriously glad to discover it's not just me _________________ SB6 mk1 (project mega light, big bore)

Click on the image you want to re-size....
when it comes up large, point the cursor to the top edge of the picture and a load of options appear one of them being "resize" it then gives you several size options. I choose 640x480, I think _________________ SB6 mk1 (project mega light, big bore)

Hi
It would probably be possible to add max dimensions for images posted in here to reduce the sizes. Trouble is what dimensions to choose given that some will be using an iPhone with a tiny screen and others a projector over the whole wall at a silly resolution.
All the best

...Not sure how that works Keith?
Just looked at my 21" screen, 8" tablet and 3 laptops in between and on all of them, the forum page fills the screen so if the picture is bigger than the width of the forum page, you have to scroll from side to side. The majority of posters get it right by intention or accident but some post huge pictures and then every post on that forum page is wider than the screen _________________ SB6 mk1 (project mega light, big bore)

Hi
In HTML for most browsers you can set max image dimensions for an image.
The forum uses tables for the layout and these stretch to fit. Trouble is that they land up stretching to fit a picture and screwing up all the rest of that page.
Text can do the same. If you have a very long link it can screw up the layout at well (ie, text without a space).
I will have a think about what to do.
All the best
