Hi!
I wonder if somone knows where one can find a new connector for the ECU-box?

It would make life a little easier for me if I had one. I'm going to change all the little fishes in the connector due to corrosion on them and on the wires.

Italian electronics and water are selldom compatible.,....

Stefan
(First I was in doubt, now I'm not that certain...)
Cool

Is there any markings on the connector? If so, we might be able to figure it out.
If I had an db2sr, I would consider replacing the ECU with an aftermarket part like Microsquirt. I have heard a lot of stories about the troble with the original one.

A small anecdote;
Several years ago, the Swedish Ducati Club had a track day at the Rudskogen track in Norway. One of the Swedish members had a db2sr which was the talk of the day, and we used a lot of time to try to get it running. We opened up the ECU and even soldered some of the connections on the PCB. We never got it running properly, probably due to the same problems that you describe.
In the end, he had to borrow my bb1 while I was riding my old Mille. We both had a great time Smile

I was told that the connector was made by ABM but when I looked extra carefully on it I found AMP stamped on it!
I would really like to have a new one in case I brake the one I have when I´m picking the little small contacts out.......

Stefan

In Norwegian:
Ja, jeg har nok vært på Micapeaks mailinglister og andre steder i noen år nå. Du forsto sikkert at den anekdoten min handlet om Mr Nice som solgte sin db2sr for noen år siden.

About the AMP connector:
AMP is one of the major connector companies, and makes a lot of different types. For sure they must have a representative in Sweden, but I don't know who is the Swedish distributor. However, e.g. www.elfa.se stocks some of the more common types, but perhaps your connector is no longer among the current range.

Take a look at
http://catalog.tycoelectronics.com/TE/bin/TE.Menu?M=MENU&ID=17560&BML=10576&I=13
Try the connector picture search. Perhaps you can find it there?
If you are able to find the AMP product number on the connector or from searching the above web site, Elfa, RS components or others, even on Ebay should be able to get you one.

Besides the Swedish and Norwegian did this go any further than "out of stock"?
Also has anyone replaced the ECU on an SR?

Hello-have you tried Farnell? They do a lot of mail order electrical stuff and might have an equivalent.

Cheers, MikeJ
