I think the radiator is a standard GSXR1100 W unit, so from £50 off the bay. _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

Happy to read the radiator is not an ultra-rare Bimota part
Maybe not immediatly, but as without airbox I have a lot of space behind the carbs It would be nice to move there the battery...
does anyone have some spec (cad work or a design on paper) of the box I would have to build?
I guess the box would have to contain the battery and substain the tank _________________ Honda CB450K1 - CB750K2 - CB500K1 - RC30 - Ducati 750SS - Bimota SB6 |

That's always a good thing.
Where is your rad leaking from?.
These rads are just "crimped" together and I've repaired a couple (on GSXR's) by tightening the crimps with a pair of pliers.

Before you rush ahead, please confirm that the tank sits properly above the pipercross filters. The K&N filters will not allow the back of the tank down low enough for the bodywork to fit.
...A side on view picture of the filters would be good.

..If it all fits properly with the filters, I've seen several ways of supporting the rear of the tank including a TL1000 battery _________________ SB6 mk1 (project mega light, big bore)

K&Ns seem to be much longer than pipercross, and for what I've seen there would be no interference with the tank...
I've found a battery box from a CB500 four... it would host a 12V 14Ah acid battery... don't know if it has enaugh beer to spin a 1100 engine...
The rad leaks in a middle orizzontal link from left to right ... and another bad new is that even the pump leaks some drop... that could be a bad tightening matter (hope so)
today I revved it up to feel the throttle response and at High rpm seems to be a little rough. Will see the spark plugs if it has become lean due to the increased air flow... _________________ Honda CB450K1 - CB750K2 - CB500K1 - RC30 - Ducati 750SS - Bimota SB6 |

Excellent...If you get a spare minuet, A side on picture of the carbs/filters would be good.

It's the cranking amps (cca) you need to look at

That's the end of that rad then....Could be repaired?, could have a custom alloy rad made or could find a second hand replacement.
Let me know if your REALLY struggling to sort the rad.
With all the crud you had in your cooling system, the water pump mechanical seal may be u/s. Replacements are available if the impeller and casing are OK.............

many thanks for the help.
The rad seems to be easy to find. I've already answered 2 ads and I'm waiting to see what is worth
The pump has been changed while the engine was off... maybe the cover O-ring was not seated well... I have to track the leak and try to fix without redropping the engine (Bimota designers are often in my prayers!!!) _________________ Honda CB450K1 - CB750K2 - CB500K1 - RC30 - Ducati 750SS - Bimota SB6 |

ok found a used radiator... and changing would be an easy job...
the bad new is that the water pump leaks and I have to check the oring. Luckily there's no oil in the falling drops...
Is it possible to swing the engine just to make the pump and clutch actuator reacheble or I'd have to re-drop the engine? _________________ Honda CB450K1 - CB750K2 - CB500K1 - RC30 - Ducati 750SS - Bimota SB6 |
