|

Finally got my ZXR750 going today! It's been pulled apart in the shed for 5 years. Every now and then i'd have a go at getting it going. A few weeks ago i got a bit more serious. I've had the carbs appart a dozen times over the years trying to find the issue. Today i found a blocked pilot jet that I've obviously missed every time. Teeny tiny hole that i had to clean out with a single wire cut from a wire brush.
Now i can get serious about turning it into a track weapon. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851

And this WAS my first ZXR. 1989 model. I always preferred the look of this model but the later ones really went well for a stock 750 and handled nicely. Should never have sold this one

You have a good taste of bikes Brain.
I had also the Kawa ZXR 750 H2 after that I bought the ZXR 750 J2
I have good memories about these bikes. _________________ vince

Yeah I'd buy another H1 ('89) model if i come across one at the right time. I'd really love an M2 if i could find one. Rare as rockin' horse shit in Aus but. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

You have a good taste! This is a 96?
It will be the next bike I buy (if not it will be a 916 or NC30). Rides very, very well and indeed cheap at the moment. I was looking for a ZXR750R but a nice one without the second R will do |

It's a 1995 neils. '95 was the last year of the ZXR750 (in Aus), the L3 model. In '96 (maybe late '95?) they changed to the ZX7 (P model). _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

You are correct, in 96 the ZX7R came but this is the last color scheme indeed. I like the H1/H2 colors the most but the L model is just such a good bike! The differences with the ZX7R are rather small instead of what Suzuki did for instance. |
