Bike quits working when hot. Shop said it's the fuel sender unit. Some sort of part on the left side of the tank where there's an over-molded plastic part that has wires coming in and out of it. One of the wires apparently goes to the fuel pump. The part gets hot and stops a signal from going to the fuel pump, thus shutting it off.
How do I remedy this If I can't find a replacement part? Why did Bimota feel they needed to do this? Apparently, Triumph does the same thing, so there's got to be a good reason. |

Try and stop it from heating up would be the fist thing - try some self adhesive heatshield, try and get some fresh air to duct onto the part
I don't think Bimota actively designed it this way but you have to remember they're a small company and don't test their products to the same degree as a big manufacturer. _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

Trying to keep it cool seems unlikely, as it's buried in the tank. I suspect a short in there. I'd like to melt that plastic away, and fix whatever's wrong inside, but don't really want to mess things up too much in case I can't get the tank to seal correctly. |

It soesn't sound right if it's in the tank the fuel should keep it cool. I don't know what the fuel pump is from but start with the Suzuki TL and go from there I guess. _________________ Don't read everything you believe |
