Just wondering if anyone has heard of any companys that sell air filters to suit the SB6R?
I have ordered a K+N filter that is designed to suit a KTM 690 Enduro and I will modify the air box to suit.

Hi Muzza, I had one made for my 6R by a firm called ITG in the UK. They still have the pattern and should be happy to make one up for you. It is a foam laminate of various densities with a stainless mesh to give rigidity. It will cost you the best part of £100 (don't know how many kangaroo hides that equates to Laughing ), but it's excellent quality and it's washable (that's petrol, rather than chucking it in to the machine with Mrs Muzza's smalls when she's not looking!) so should last a long time. Tell them I recommended you.

Hi Muzza,

I don't know how different the 6R filter is compared to the 6. I ended up buying a flat sheet of air filter foam, the 6 has the worst retainer, it looks like an ice cream lid that has been cut to retain the filter. I took mine down to a local metalwork place and had an aluminium one made.

It is now a simple matter of removing the foam washing the old oil out and re applying.

I tracked the foam down through a dirt bike shop.

Cheers

Steve
