I would like to know the grade and volume of fork oil for the 35mm Cerianis on the SB2.
Also, is there anyone with an original SB2 that could send me a few specific photos/information?

Since posting I have let the fork oil drain for quite a while and the measured volume is a small amount less than 250ml, so I guess that the figure is 250ml. Given that is the correct volume I may as well try ATF or 5 weight and see how I go when the bike is restored and back on the road and adjust the viscosity accordingly.

I would normally recommend that you measure the air gap first, but it sounds like it is too late for that.

Maybe this information will help:

CBar,
Thanks for the info. I took the precaution of setting up for collection of the drained oil and I got the same from both legs...slightly under 250ml so I presume that 250ml is the quantity. It would have been good to find out if that was the manufacturer's recommendation. Getting the correct weight of the oil will be a matter of trial and error in the absence of any info. I will start with 5wt when the time comes.

The 40mm Cerianis on my SB4 use 10 grade fork oil as standard.
