Hi there...
this sunday I've been on a track with my Bim.
Not the right circuit for a 1100cc , but a nice mixture of S turns and slow straights....
in the early morning it was wet-dry conditions, so I gently pulled the gas... but when the sun completely dried the track... what a music....
Metzeler rennsport did their work, my wrist did its too... and the bike was simply wonderful. Several R1s are still wondering what the hell that chubby bike was...
here is a photo of the early turns...
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
a very nice rock 'n roll day. I really needed it.... _________________ Honda CB450K1 - CB750K2 - CB500K1 - RC30 - Ducati 750SS - Bimota SB6 |

Nice photo. Glad you enjoyed the day. I'm planning on doing a track day in November. I'll probably take the db4 as it'll be my first track day. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

I've been really impressed by the handling of the SB6... obviously it is not a 125, but I thought it could be much worse...
yes the sidestand is a stupid thing while parked and it's still stupid in sport mode ... when the track got hot and I started to push I heard something grinding the ground and I worried it was the footpeg (that would end in falling down as they are solid with the frame)... it was that stupid sidestand
at the end of 100 km on the track I only noticed a lack in transmission chain (520) and a whistle in rear brake (never used on track, bleeded the day before... boh ).
next time I will take her on a fastest circuit... she deserves a longer straight... I'm quite near to San Martino del Lago... will see.

The later bikes and SB6R had a ball bearing in the top of the stand to lock it in the up position, but check the springs are OK on yours. _________________ Don't read everything you believe |
