Most people dont know this but 6 of the fairing panels on the SB8R/ SB8RS models are actually painted plastic panels and not carbon fiber.

The 2 belly pan pieces, the upper/ forward side fairing panels and the 2 front panels behind the front wheel and under the headlight are plastic and painted black on the special SB8RS....

Most people believe that everything on these bikes is real carbon. It is true that there is quite a lot of it, but not as much as you might think.

How do I know this as a matter of fact.....I have owned 3 SB8RS bikes ( #5, #6, and #10 of the 150 made ).

That I never knew, always thought the 8RS was carbon. However on the flip side EVERY panel and more on the 8K is carbon and some of them are completely painted so you can't see the carbon ??? Those Italians hey
