Frank,
I recall that soap can be used as an indicator on aluminium when heat needs to be applied. From what I remember, when the soap discolours that's about enough heat. I will look further into it.

Hello Ian,
I've heard of soap being used as an indicator for heating to stress-relieve an alloy panel when it's being panel beaten, to reduce the risk of cracking. It might be a bit iffy for aircraft spec. alloys, which may be heat-treated for strength, though,
Cheers, MikeJ |

Hi, well not much has happened since ..... my main issue remains the anodised parts.
I want to re-anodise all parts but can't find someone who wants to do it and at the same time believes he can do it.
Meaning: they say that they can't guarantee it will get a clear transparent new layer.
Apparently Avional14 has been used (what I know) and they say it is very difficult to get a nice result due to the high copper content (4-5%).
Have asked Classic Parts for some additional info but sofar nothing.
And I do not have the equipment to identify the aluminium alloy used for the parts.
In the mean time I' restoring another Tamburini piece: Ducati Paso 750.
