Now I know Germany is a big Ol country....but at least its in your country.........Theres rarely 4 or 5 Bimotas for sale at any one time in the UK and a lot of us end up buying from the netherlands/Italy/Switzerland etc in order to secure the deal we want..........That ones had a lot done to it.....and could be the one at the right price...as long as the works been done properly...only a close inspection would tell........I viewed a bike once that had had wheels changed etc...and instead of proper spacers being made up there were over 20 washers in there trying to do some sort of job....instant walk away........... |

I accidentally bought it.
FUCK YAH!
This man know so much about what he was talking. Went in to Details on everything.
I'm convinced this bike is spot on and well maintained.
The engine got the full treatment at LKM
Tho they only drilled holes in the airbox, however he has a spare stock airbox so i can experiment with that.
A few spareparts and stuff.
I had no idea but those wheels needed expensive machining to fit, so I'm glad its got that already.
The cluchcover got modified to have 5 instead of 3 screws, like the gsxr has.
Some other wear parts upgraded.
We had much in comone, so 5100 it is.
I'll pick it up in 2 weeks.

Congrats on finding the bike you were looking for. Is the frame painted or covered? Do you know what wheels they are? _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851

Not bad. Is the brake master a radial ?
The drilled airbox is OK, the airboxes are small so it helps gets more air into it.
Are the wheels Aprilla ? _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

Those are some good questions, I assume the wheels are these:pmv 5 spoke Y
3,3/5 kg
I didn't think of asking about the black Frame. At a closer look at the pic, it looks like the middle part is carbon, the rest might just be foil. That suck a bit as the Middle part is short, but wouldn't be a deal breaker.
And i didn't ask if the Brembo masters are radial, i thought "19er Brembo Break Master" the "19" automatically implies they are radial?? |

The carbon pieces on the frame may be protectors similar to these little beauties that we got made through a helpful forum member

I wouldn't worry to much about these things. Just ride for a while and make a list about what you think _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

If you see something odd, point it out.
@Evil_ brake and clutch cylinders are radial.
Owner claims it never fell, but he bought it with the paint-job.
So I'll look closely if someone covered something up.

Bit difficult to tell with just the one picture...albeit thats one hell of a BIG picture.........Only thing I can say is to check the chain isnt too tight or slack...reason? those adjusters and the spindle seem tight up against the swingarm at their shortest point....so either Brand new Chain and sprockets...or theres a chain on there thats a link or 2 too short...hence up tight against the swingarm stops........Not a big SB6 knowledge so maybe others can help...just seems mighty tight up against the stops...and every new chain I've ever put on hasnt been that close to the end of adjustment.........Or maybe theres a VERY large rear sprocket on there that came with the new wheels....count the teeth and others on here will tell you how close it is to original......... |

Nice Hint, thank you. I remember him telling me he changed, i believe it was the rear sprocket, to fit a standard gsx-r chain kit. I'll watch out for that.
Will edit my posts, the pic is to big for the forum.

That Valentino Rossi sticker . But seriously, it is in an odd position, maybe covering a blemmish.
The frame side rails do have definate lines as though it has carbon frame covers or something similar fitted.
The chain does look loose in the second pic.
I love those radial Brembo master cylinders. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Why must life always be so complicated.
I can bum out of the sb6 deal as some parts are not registered, not that that matters greatly.
And as it happens, there is an interesting sb6r near by.
mobile sb6r
Comes down to about nearly the same price. This R has sharper cams and mag wheals but is in need of carb retuning, where parts are Ok but nothing new.
Looks very clean tho its high mileage of 37k/km
Also this cheap one : cheap sb6r
The SB6 would need a respray and frame cleaning for me to love it, and is far away but it is well tuned.
I think ill still go with the SB6, but it douse nag on me that thees nice R's came up.
How would you act in my position
# just want to see some personal opinions. |

Simple answer....buy both...then you have one to run around on whilst its summer...whilst sorting the other one....down to personal choice really...i prefer the original sb6 looks..
The rear end is sharper... |
