I will be setting off on my first longish road trip with the DB5R in a couple of days, and as we will be using some back roads I have been curious about the bikes potential range. I have seen capacity cited as 15, 16, and 17 liters for this bike. On a steady state highway cruise I managed over 50 mpg with a head wind at 65 to 70 mph.
Today the low fuel light started flickering so I made it home in a few miles and siphoned out the remaining fuel, it came out to .8 uS gallons, or 3 liters. I rode just over a mile to a station and filled it with 3.18 US gallons, or 12 liters, so it looks like the figure in the shop manual that 4bims sent me is the right one. With careful riding I should be able to squeeze 200 miles out of a tank, if out in the hinterlands where fuel stops are scarce. _________________ Spike C.
