My EFI one rides great and is all original a 1997 model with no mods at all done , stock as a rock.
The only thing is the spark plugs need changing some times mainly the bottom one but it is more from lack of use maybe ?
but I also have three Vdue carb models they run great too

That's good to hear Trev. So am I safe to pressume it more a question of how to finance a EFI and a jolly EF, instead of, which one to buy Smile
Seriously though, if I put jolly m's on an EFI will it be ok or just add to problems that may arise.

Other thing to remember , and you may know this already is there is a number of indirect injection mods out there, so if you go for an injection , ensure it is the direct Bimota injection system and not a 3rd party temporary fix one.

Must also remember there are differences between early injection ones and later EF ones. Dont expect to put Jolly's on an injection and get the same power.

Trev45 - your injection bog standard or got the mains and oilways mods ?

Yes done in 1997 but everything else standed Bimota

You need to remap for Jollys on EFI or Carb models

Did Piero do anymore amendments to the electrics, ecu, injectors etc in the last 10+ yrs he ran things or did he just concentrate on the engine an carb models?
Ya, I hear what you're saying about the pipes, prob only raise from 110bhp to 118bhp so or? EF's run between 122-128 right.

Opinion may be divided on this one and I can only say what I know or have seen.
If you talk to Piero he will tell you they have done lots of work on the engine with new crankcase's , cranks, cylinders etc . This work is not restricted to carb only models, it is the basic engine. If you go to Meda there seems to be evidence of these claims as there are creates full of crank cases etc , all of which he says are useless as old design. Now when all this work was undertaken who knows, could have been 1997 , 2000 or 2007 ???? He also says there are changes to code but to be honest who knows on this or when they were done.
The only thing he told me is with all the mods and latest code the injections now lack memory , but I am sure these days that can be sorted out by someone whilst they were sorting out the tune for the JM pipes Very Happy
But from investment terms do you want an injection that has been modified away from standard ???

Right, thanks Vort28. This direct injection question on large or small capacity engines is a tough one an doesn't look to be sorted anytime soon. Be it with different manufactures or tuning specialists. Even Suter/ Paton who have the 500 DI square four an all their racing knowledge an might are still in prototype stage. I many others I've watched their progress for years an really thought they'd crack it an at E112,000 you'd hope it wouldn't foul plugs on the bottom bank Smile
The slim body of the V Due EFI I like but who can turn down 20 extra horses an those lovely carbon intake ducts

Very Happy yep, they're my favourite kind. Selling my low mileage Frilla RS250 03.
Don't worry I'm aware it will scare, come from a national racing background but even so, hoping the "running in" of the bike an me will go well :p
