I'll find out in the next week or so. Although K+N made a pod filter it was discontinued a long time ago so there's no direct replacement. You can use a flat panel type and cut it down to fit the standard airbox

I like the idea of replacing the airbox, but problem for me is this is
where the "guts" of the bike theft system reside. Did you have to relocate
to where. If not fitted, how (UK) did you get your Bimbo insured cause
as far as I can find ,no insurance company will touch unless you have
a specific type of alarm system fitted.

Oily,no alarm fitted, you must either have a big dog, missus who knows how to use a shotgun,or stay on an remote island.

Jest aside,I got quotes from 5 insurers (aviva, bennets, bikesure, carolenash, mce),all gave same stipulations, bike alarm, garaged, and for some strange reason, not to be used 2300 till 0700
if so,fully comp went to third party only.

As bimota already had alarm fitted, was not that concerned.I went with Aviva,as they gave me best deal for a 50ish guy with a multibike policy
(bimota, harley and a gt750 kettle) all for 349 fully comp.

Must be,us Scots are a bigger risk, being more mental like !!!

Gordon Bennet Shocked
I'd be "more mental like" if I had to pay that amount with those clauses.
I'm with Carol Nash (at the moment). Fully comp for SB6R and GSXR 7/11, no alarms, includes commuting, 1 years NCB..........wait for it.......
£200

The other half is with Bennets, fully comp for the SB6 which has no alarm. 1 years NCB, includes commuting..... £145

Must be a north of the border thing
I know that the amount of years you've held a licence counts for a lot Wink

Nope

I'm central London and although the bike has to be garaged I think I paid about £230 last year for the CB 400/4, FZR400RR and SB6 none have alarms.

Of course you could join Bimota Enthusiasts (£20ish per year) and qualify for Classic Insurance with Footman James

Carol Nash do a "Modern Classic" policy. Think the bike only has to be 10 years old Wink

Will have to go back to some of these insurers and refer them to the
Bim forum, and ask them why I am forking out so much.Held a full
bike licence for 32 years, not one claim. : Shocked

Think I will go and search out some Scottish Insurance Company Confused

Hi

The Footman James policy is the old Aon policy (when Aon dealt directly). Not sure you need to be a member of the Enthusiasts Circle to get it. It is who my classic policy is with by that works out at about £400 (but getting on for 10 bikes on that policy).

All the best

Keith
