Ok folks…sick of looking at that plastic air box through my lovely carbon frame….If anybody is interested let me know. Price will vary depending on how many folks want one. I'll be redesigning slightly to fit a K&N air filter instead of that foam and metal sheets.

That's funny, I can't see my airbox without using a flashlight and looking under the gas tank. The factory foam filter does leave something to be desired though. I made my own foam filter that works way better than stock. Don't really see any benefit from remaking the airbox myself. _________________ Bimota SB8R

On an SB6R you can see the plastic box between the carbon frame (the carbon subframe, maybe a better description of the one that that keeps your ass on the bike and the exhaust supported). anyhow...very visable.. _________________ pete |

Hello Pete
I'd be interested in a carbon airbox for the 6r. How big a mod would you be doing for a K&N? Can you still get hold of K&Ns for the 6r? I thought they had been out of stock for a long time. I've been using ITG filters, which are a lot better than the bath sponge and mesh arrangement. _________________ What, Jonny's gone! |

I'd just find a k&n (from some modern bike) with as close a shape to the original. The exterior of the box shape will remain the same... _________________ pete |

Doesn't the 6R have the ram air tubes / box between the tank and engine ? _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

not like the 8..it has some ram air tubes, but they come into the top of the airbox lid, I'm just building the bottom half which is visible. _________________ pete |
