Cool pictures and nice data for comparisment.

db4 frame really is light. And shorter with more steep steering head angle.

I think you will love the snappy handling compared to the Ducati frames.

Only difference might be offset value of the Ducati forks compared to the Bimota forks. If you want values I would have to measure them up.

There is someone in Japan racing the bimota DB4ie with a 1078cc dual spark engine. I know it is the biposta model because I have some pictures without the fairing. If I remember correctly, they had to slightly trim the fins on one of the cylinders so it would fit the DB4 frame. There were two of these bikes, one with ohlins and the other with Showa forks.

Here is a link to the blog. They also ditched the wire harness / ecu and used an aftermarket .

Yes I really hope that the short wheelbase, more steep steering head angle and less weight will give a really snappy handling of the bike.

The offset is 30mm for the SSie triples / yokes.
Please measure yours Wink

DB4
My frame have already had a SportClassic 1000cc engine in it.
If google translate the above japanese pages correctly it seems that it is the same bike. Silver/red before crash, green/black after crash with a fully tuned 1100 engine.
Bernhard Klose in Germany have a DB4 with 1000/1100 engine.

Issue 2 http://www.klose-motorraeder.de/data/storage/attachments/13202356998274.JPG
Have also seen a picture of a yellow DB4 racing in Italy Supertwins with a DS engine.
And here it is:

The stock DB4 yoke offset is 35mm. I am thinking of putting on 30mm offset triples too because I want to put on more modern UPSD forks. I was told there might be an issue of the front tire contacting the engine upon hard braking? I have an extra custom made billet 35mm offset top clamp with an alloy stem that fits the Ducati ohlins forks and lower yoke for the DB4. I bought it from Moto Corse Performance in Florida a couple years ago. I never installed it. If I can find the time to post a picture, I will.

Found some useful parts at Yahoo in Japan.
Package sent 25 November, arrived in Sweden 1 December !
Frame plugs.
Should there be a O-ring around them ?
Or just the locking screw in the frame?

Rear brake setup
Have anyone tried to mount the rearbrake mastercylinder to the engine like Ducati do?
Will the distance from the pedal to the rearseat be ok?

No o-rings on the plugs, just the screw.
