Hi,
I am new to the forum and on the lookout for my first Bimota.

Can anyone comment on what the seating position / comfort is like on the DB2s.

Old reviews seem to suggest that it is more spacious than the Ducati 900s, which at just 6' I found was too cramped for my own comfort.

I have sat on an SB6R I was considering and was surprised how good it was compared to some sports bikes but as the DB2 I have seen for sale is miles away any advice from current/past owners would be much appreciated before making a wasted journey.

Hi.....DB2 is a lot higher seat than a 900ss...and narrower...I'm 5ft 10 and can get both feet flat on the ground...just....folk over 6ft can ride it fine as well...its only shorties that would have a problem....footpegs are quite high up for ground clearance...and can feel cramped when riding if comparing to a Duc 900....size is not normally an issue...its more related to age and agility as it is a much sportier riding position than say a Duc 900....reach for the clip-ons is lenghtier...and they are lower down than a Duc...you can change the clip-ons but limited to clearance with the cloesely fitted front fairing....

Theres a lot of weight on your forearms and wrists up to say 50/60mph...when the wind lifts your body and makes for an easier life.

The handling of these bikes is sublime and streets ahead of say a Duc 900SS...lighter, more nimble and extreme and precise...Not really a touring bike...I use mine mostly for day trips but it did manage a 3/4 day trip to the Isle of Man TT where the roads suited it wonderfully

Agree with 2Bims - my DB2 is an excellent ride and Im 6 foot tall. Once set up properly the handling is second to non and leaves the Duc brigade for dead. Miles of smiles Very Happy

Would agree with all the above. I'm 5' 10" whatever that is in metres and find the db2 very comfy. Once rode Spanish border to Brussels in a day, 1100km, and could still walk afterwards. Try that on a duke... I've now converted mine to Renthal street bars and ditched (not literally) the fairing to make the bike more comfy and fun up to 90mph. See my post "naked db2" in the dB section. Fairings and clip-ons are for track/high speed use aren't they?
Either way the db2 is great: simple and reliable if looked after and a blast to ride. Good luck with your search.

Whereabouts are you Retroman? It could be that someone nearby has one you could try...but we wouldnt know that without at least knowing which country you live in.......... Shocked

There we go.....I'm based in South Manchester...so you could always pop around and I'd put the kettle on and then you could sit on my DB2...or Db4,5,6,,,,,,,,,etc

Bimota'ism is an incurable diseases , once it takes hold and instantiates itself in your garage , it spreads at an alarming rate , comsuming space and multiplying expenentially . Nah Brian...no DB3...the OCD goes so far it only allows Tri-color models in good old G/W/R...and there aint no Db3 in that colour scheme...thank the lawd....... Laughing
