One for you 2bims??? You don't have a Tesi as yet and it is in line with your theme... Ducati powered, Bimota, tricolour.

You might have to break open your piggy bank though Shocked

It would seem to fit the bill Brian.....dealer now has 4 Bims he's squirrelled away from some owner in Italy....albeit offering them all at high prices.....Doesnt mention whether or not he is going to road register them for the UK....service or refresh them so that they can actually be ridden......a bike like that would need a couple of grand spending on it to renew rubber, lines, belts etc.....and they are all European models.....clocks in kms...headlights wrong for the UK....dont know anyone that can change those old fashioned LCD clocks so that they can read miles and not kms.....

I do like to ride my bikes and probably wouldnt ride that Tesi.... Crying or Very sad

Fair enough. I seem to remember reading somewhere that Bimota recommend replacing the front hub bearings every few thousand miles? That would be an expensive exercise if the bike was ridden regularly. Although if it were me i'd probably just check them regularly. I recon those huge hub bearings would be expensive.

Yeh....I've heard tell its a couple of hundred pounds for the front wheel bearings....but then I'd want to change the rears, the sprocket cush drive rubbers and bearings...refresh shocks...change belts, backing plate covers, belt tensioners....brake and clutch lines....calipers or seals....tis a pricely process all told...and then not worth much more after you've done all that....those Duc engines are full of oil seals...and I wouldnt be wanting to ensure their integrity if the engine oil has been draining down over the last 24 years......bearings also for that fact.....and theres over 30 separate bearings in those engines....

You not seen my update on "compare your Bimotas"?? Spent ages on it and no-ones commentated as yet....feel like Nobby No mates.... Crying or Very sad

Ha ha ha, yeah I did see it mate and only had time for a quick scan through it. I did mutter to myself that it's a very detailed post with lots of beaut photos. I need a bit of time to read it properly and to savour the content Wink

Nice work Nobby Laughing

Hi folks,
Allways looking in but rearly post, I have only owned one Bimota SB66r great bike but I have and still do have a thing for the big Vtwin (Italian) especialy the 851/888 series. So I enquired about my Panigale Tricolore as px, not yet had responce but I am questioning my intension, but I have and still do have a soft spot for the 1st Tesi.
I owned a Yamaha GTS and used for my survey work all around Ireland in the early 90s. I can tell you the ride was sublime if not a little under powered, but it tracked beutifully even on the roughest roads it handled brilliantly.

It looks a nice enough bike......and I cant question the dealer as to its state, or whether he would be registering it and recommissioning it for UK roads......the Tesi 1D's have the Bimota electonic LCD dash that are notoriously unreliable....and read digitally in Kms only...the headlight would also kick the wrong way which would need changing and should be an MOT failure (speedos fitted or not is not required for MOT)

I seriously doubt this bike has been run for many years given the mileage....and I would think the "value" in it is as a collectors piece and not for riding....each to their own but evidently do your homework first...
