Heck regarding chain clips i use rivet links as i have a motion pro chain maker.breaker kit which i brought for these reasons:

1) Have seen a chain shoot past me like a snake on the road from a rider in front from not joining a chain properly.
2) I even done a dodgy myself and fitted a incorrect chain link which caused a chain to come off within 100m from my place.
Nasty stuff!

Been lucky to not come off as described, have no insurance so don't want that!

Clear as a Kiwi can be. Smile

I see what you are saying. The centreline of the rear sprocket will move inwards by 0.75mm when going from 532 to 525 as the 532 is 8.7mm wide and the 525 is 7.2mm wide. Hardly a significant amount.

The front sprocket is a bit different and it depends on the offset. The R6 sprocket is 10.8 wide at the boss and it probably 7.2mm wide at the teeth. However the teeth are not usually central to the boss so the offset could be 5.4mm (10.8 ÷ 2) if the teeth are central to 3.6mm (7.2mm ÷ 2) if the teeth are offset all the way to one side. Who knows what the offset is?

Is even the standard 532 sprocket symmetrical???

Yeah your asking the question i need to know. The front sprocket offset! Hell I wish i knew, the sprocket data sheet is like a engineering drawing not drawn to scale.

Hi

Did you get an solution to the alignment of the R6 525 front sprocket vs the FZR 530 front sprocket? Am asking as I am looking to replace the chain + sprockets on my YB10 and was considering a 525 rather than a 530.

Also wondering what teeth numbers you are running? Currently my YB10 has 17/46. The bike is only used on the road.

The R6 sprockets are good. The offset is the same as the rear sprocket so it all lines up.
