I was wondering if the gauges my Bimota SB4S has are the original ones or someone installed those sometime after.
They are the same as the ones of the Suzuki 1100GS which sounds reasonable to me being a Bimota with Suzuki engine, but:
- digital gear indicator does not move from “7”.
- fuel level indicator does not work and I don’t find any sensor under the tank to send a signal to the gauge.

These two things make me think my gauges might not the originals of the bike.

Certainly look like Sb4 clocks with the small knowledge I have of seeing other Sb4 clocks (1 No,)...chat to BimotaNige on here as he has an Sb4 and a couple of Sb3's........I recall all the warning lights telling you if a bulb is blown...re certain ones not working? No surprise...not uncommon for Bimota to only wire certain ones in....and as they made and used their own petrol tank then maybe didnt bother with the sender in the tank...you may well find that theres a blanking plate in there somewhere on the tank where there used to be a sensor that was removed due to being inop and a blanking plate was fitted in its place

Yes looks correct for the SB4. no operating petrol gauge sender fitted as its a Bimota tank. The three "bulb blown" indicators may or may not work. They need a sensor unit from the original bike to keep them off. Mine didn't have this, Bimota had just chopped the loom wires and removed the bulbs in the dash!! If the bulbs are left in without the sensor the " bulb blown" lights gradually come on over a few minutes of running as I tried fitting bulbs before I knew why they were missing!
My gear indicator works correctly, 1 to 5,check that the wiring isn't shorting out as my wiring was all brittle and broken with age and engine heat. Use the wiring diagram from the 1100 Katana as its the nearest one I found

they are 1100EZ clocks and the gear indicator would only read 1 to 5....

Ok many thanks!
Bearing in mind the fuel level and bulb testers would not work Bimota could have gone to a smaller and better looking clocks...

All about cost....in the early days the Japanese manufacturers wouldnt sell Bimota 'just" the engine....they had to buy the whole bike.....and then start throwing away frame, wheels, bodywork tank, brakes etc....and often they kept the clocks to save a few pennies.....only with the start of say the DB1 were they able to buy just the engine and not a whole bike

Different than my clocks, I'd say mine are from a later model!
