Congrats on a great new project! These bikes really deserve to stay on the road if at all feasible! They are a riding experience unlike any other!

CT - PM didn't leave the "outbox" for some reason Sad

Always good to get some info from previous owners. Logbook not back yet - were you the last owner when it was in the fire ?
Did you have the engine mods done aswell as the PC3 and clocks ?

Yes please...pictures keep us all interested...and you'd be amazed what people can spot and help you with even though you might not have realised you needed it Laughing

Thanks for the info via email CT, very useful - when the photobucket account decides to upload more than one photo every 48 hours everyone will be able to see how hard I have worked on this bike (or at least see how much beer has been consumed in bringing her back to life - the parts cost at the moment is equal to the beer cost)! Very Happy HIC!

Cracked valve - replaced with new one but I've never heard of this happening on TL engine.

Got all engine bits from Robinsons - use TLZO for 10% TL Zone discount !
Other bits bought from Glen Wilson and some bits from John Thompson (last owner).

Clean up injectors - just used carb cleaner spray from car shop

Rebuilt engine now - had to buy new fuel pump from Bimota classic parts, excellent service

Would have been quicker but bloody work keeps taking up my time!

Ordered some vinyl material to recover the seat and then off for the MOT.
Found out some more info on the bike, it was at Chris Gunster tuning shop to have some work done - tank was off and the place caught fire which was the reason for the heat damage and airbox melting !
I was happy that it started up so easily and that the ecu and fancy pants display all worked correctly. I'll ride it for a few hundred miles and then repaint it - something along these lines,I particularly like the tint in the lacquer on the carbon bits.

I might even modify some Ducati 1098 silencers i have to tuck them under a bit more, don't think I'll find a Motocorse system for sale !

Good to see it running....and a few headaches sorted....I did think that bike was a gonna and sure fire "parts bin" when I saw it advertised....soz for the pun...good to see it resurrected back to a full working bike........Do like that Motocorse painted SB8.....but then I'm biased as I have a DB2 painted in the same colour scheme.... Laughing ...which also came with the titanium Corse pipes.... Laughing Laughing ........nice systems but Jesso....even 2nd hand folk want a grand or 2 for them....and rarely do they come up for sale....That colour scheme was first used on a bunch of SB6 Corse bikes that held the record as the worlds fastest "Production Bike" at one time....so you can search for that colour scheme elsewhere also under Corse

Better and more pictures here. Just keep scrolling down and click on each picture for close up details...

I guessed that the corse systems would be somewhat "unobtainium" , oh well I'll just have to fabricate my own interpretation (stainless though).
I always find that paintwork is always the hardest thing to get right - but as mine has the gold PVM wheels etc it seemed like a good choice. Also as it doesn't owe me much and I'm not gonna sell it I don't care if other folk think I should keep it standard or not as it nay affect the value. The other option is similar to the race bikes or maybe something completely different - a bloke at work said to street fighter it - I just walked away calmly (mind you most of his bikes are half built piles of parts )!

"street fighter it"..........I imagine you found it hard to be angry and laugh both at the same time......not against such things....but bikes tend to go that way after a crash and you cant afford to replace the bodywork...hopefully yours is good enough to be able to refrain from that route.....As its going to be a special and hopefully that you'll keep for a long while...then I'd go for that corse paint scheme....which is a flat white...a bright but non metallic red...and then a metallic green...I do like the Corse schemes....and think it would look pretty good....bike still has top notch components and design so why not an extravagent paint scheme???

But then who am I to comment as I am extremely biased when it comes to tri-color and the Corse paint scheme:-
