Right then, that time of year again , time to apply for space at the Manchester show.
Over the last 3 years a few of us Northern forum boys have slowly increased the number of bikes on the stand from about 10 on the first years 3mx6m pitch to about 18ish on this years 6mx6m pitch
Now next year it would be nice to break the 20 bike barrier and get a few new face's involved.
It is a very tiring weekend with lots of standing up , will involve you wasting 3-4 days of your life that you will not get back , will cost you money ( fuel , new Bimota t-shirt , whatever , it will cost you) , will involve lots of cleaning and polishing etc and will also mean you have to talk Bimota and only Bimota for 8-10 hours a day. You will hear the same sad statement every 10 minutes ' Didn't realise they still make bikes' and probably have one muppet an hour ask ' Are they Chinese ' !!!!!
On the plus side you will get to meet US ( me and 2bims currently, maybe) , and maybe get 10 minutes to look around the rest of the show .
There is a 50:50 chance there will be some lycra action , and maybe this year it will even be female !!!! ( 2bims I still got the photo’s)
Set up day is the Friday and early Saturday , and it will be 4.30pm ish Sunday before you can get your bike/life back.
What you think ? Anyone want to put your name down ? |

I'd be there if it wasn't for all the water on the road between here and there.... _________________ Spike C.

If worst comes to worst vort... you and 2bims should be able to do the 20. Might take a few trips though _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

I think we'd be just the one short at present Brian.....so get that SB6 of yours shipped over and finally there'd be one at the show...... |

Confirmed booking to Manchester show , same size stand as last year , 12M x 12M , so plenty of space for about 20-24 bikes. |

Problem is the transport, 6 is my maximum delivery , and that is with me riding one, 2 in van and 3 on the trailer, and even with yours that still leaves a bit of spare space.
Do you think we should only do pairs this year ?? |

Planning on having a few trinkets on display from the wonderful Paolo of BimotaClassicParts at this years show.......he's sent me through some literature, business cards, stickers etc that will be handed out......and I'll take down a few leather bimota key holders for anyone thats interested that turns up.(When I say that "turns up"...20,000 people came last year...evidently all of them bikers....and it felt like that many came to our stand at times also....)
Hopefully we'll have a few other bits and pieces and maybe...just maybe....some nice Bimota bottled red wine to give out as samples....evidently we dont have an alcohol license so wouldnt be able to sell bottles...but maybe we could decant some into small sampler cups to give away....and I'll maybe provide a few Proscuitto biscuits to boot also....
Also got myself a lovely set of genuine Italian red mirrors for my Ducati 900ss...was never too happy with the copy black versions I bought from elsewhere that are currently fitted...they have a plastic knuckle and arm that just doesnt tighten up...leading to flimsey floppy mirrors...these genuine ones have the original metal ball and knuckle and are very tight indeed to adjust....just the job...and the paint finish looks a foot thick...nice and shiney and lustrous...cheers Paolo....
