So I found myself reading this article again, and found mention of crankcase issues added to it in 2013:

i will be pressure testing mine before fitting it back in the bike
just to make sure , last person to build my engine did use a lot of red hematite on the crank case halfs |

I suppose that all depends what age the injection bike he had ?
The later bikes and reworked bikes have different crank case's anyway , so is it the early bikes that had the issue only ?
If you go to see Piero he has creates of NOS casings that he says are scrap. |
