Hello everyone I have just purchased my 2009 Bimota DB7 serial # 27 it has been in a private collectors personal museum since 2009 and the most amazing thing at this point she only has 62.3 miles on it , the former owner has made a few mods to it..the double exhast tips ,tail tidy ,smoked windshield ,the heat shields on the exhast has been ceramic coated...and now it is my turn to add some small mods. and this is why I have come to you all for info and advice..I have been searching the web for carbon fiber protection pieces for the engine, so I'm having a interesting time looking at carbon pieces for Ducati 1098 bikes has anyone found a good outlet to purchase from that they would suggest ? also has anyone found a shorter set of clutch & brake levers that will fit...and lastly I have noticed that it is impossible to find a set of slider's to protect the body work ,someone told me the reason why is the frame would bend with slider's mounted..is that true ? anyway I am a long time rider ,first time Bimota owner in need of everyone's knowledge and experience so any help would be greatly appreciate .......thank you Robert

Try looking through the Rizoma brochure....water pump protector...through axle/spindle bobbin protecters etc....evidently you'll have to search for "naked" ducatis like the multistrada, Monster etc fitted with the watercooled 1098 engine though rather than the Ducati 1098 bike itself as that is fully faired......other than that there are carbon pieces that can cover the bottom parts of the engine on both sides.........Frame protecters.....hhmm...each to their own...difficult to fins Bimota specifics as I'm sure you've found...and yeh...stories that any knocks to frame mounted may save bodywork/engine parts but evidently any knock to the frame could damage that also....

For levers......the brake and clutch masters are simply radial brembos....with special logo'd Bimota levers....so search for radial brembo levers

Theres also carbon RHS engine protecters

Robert, welcome to the world of Bimota and especially the world of the DB7.
Don't know what you have ridden before but the 7 is a nice piece of kit. Was'nt sure I would get on with the DB7 when I bought mine but now seems to be the first in the que when it comes to going on a ride. Very Happy
They do take time to get the suspension set up to your own requirements. Both end are quite hard as standard and generally need a few clicks towards the softer side to get it good for the road, but it can be achieved.

On the bits side you will find very little specific to the DB7 but as 2bims suggests most Ducati stuff fits, and if you really need crash bungs the through engine ones that replace the engine mount bolts are probably your best bet.
