greetings,

i am a 1st time Bimota forum member & poster.
enjoyed a few hours browsing everyone's Bimota pics!
here in the states - extremely rare to see a single Bimota of any type
let alone a KB1 -- but i did get to see a KB1 in a local mechanic's
shop. and when i saw the special or unique clip-on as noted in
my Bimota book i got on a quest.
question:
is it still possible to purchase this style of clip-on in these days & times?

here is a pic of the Rhingini clip-on from 1 of my many internet trolling
adventures -

thanks for any considerations my way,
scott

Hi

That is a standard clip on fitted to my KB1 and SB4 plus plenty of others i am sure, They are of course multi adjustable.

size wise my KB1 uses 38mm and the SB4 42mm i think

you may see some turn upon fleabay but new i doubt very much.

good luck

you may need it.

They look like they're cast and pleened.

If you absolutely have to have them like that then you'll need to look at other Italian bikes of the time, Moto Guzzi racers etc.

If you just need some clipons to be able to ride the bike then get some overall dimensions and photos, then have them CNC cut from solid billet.
Sometimes it's easier to get things made rather than searching for years.

Welcome to the foum Cool

very good observations these 2 points.
i have not had any luck at all -- either to find even 1 unit for sale or
to design them in my 3d solid modeler (but this is fixable - as i can
now find someone more talented to assist me . . . . .).
and yes -- the "years" are what has been the result to date -- 3 to be exact.
so i finally tip my hat to the enthusiasts here on this forum for their
consultation & advice to eliminate any doubt i have not tried hard enough
to find a set or even 1 unit. and it appears my path is narrowed quite
severely or maybe your advice has created the renewed direction to
releasing all inhibitions and going for the build myself. i too intend to
follow a casting methodology & eventual machine work to drive the final
aesthetics. i do this not for profit or materialism, but as a challenge
brought on by the original creators' classic style for design & engineering.
my sole reason for a purchase was to understand how the mechanics of
the "thimble" unit attached to the split clamps & how the bars were gripped inside this artistic thimble.
i have split hairs attempting to understand how Tamburini et al achieved such a clean & convincing piece of engineering.

i feel once again, the potent genius of Tamburini behind the obvious aesthetic success.

i hope you all don't mind this long discourse. i think this forum's members
would understand such emotion & i thank you for your efforts to lengthen
the Bimota shadow of beautiful execution.

yes, quite.

I'd have thought a grub screws in the underside for the bar and either the same for the "thimble" or a locking bolt from inside the fork tube part, (but you loose the ability to alter the angle quickly
