Hi all from the new guy
Great to finally be amount your ranks
Got myself a full house bb1 racebike for my Xmas present
Thanks Santa,not
This has led me to find next years one,a tidy yb7 that I'm going north this weekend.
This ,with a 600 conversion will be my primary racebike due to its ideal for our pre 89 post classic f2 class, and keeping the kms off the bb1 and preserve its from new tigcraft heritage
Had a good search round researching the conversion, and have a good understanding of what is involved though have not got much fine detail hench my request for any specific knowledge ,photos ect, best motor to get ect

I thank you
Matt

Hi Matt
Mine had a FZR 600 motor in it. The front frame tubes (the detachable ones) had been modified to go around the head. key issue is fitting the fan for the rad as the larger engine is taller and impedes on the original fan. I used 2 PC cooling fans mounted to the rad for mine and it worked fine.

Just like that? Cheers
Do you get a sp 600 do you know?
I read that you could build a 400600 mix and match that was the race trick in the day but can not find it again,

A mate of mine has just purchased a YB7, and a complete engine carbs loom etc out of a YB9. When he gets tired of banging around on the 400, the plan is to fit up the 600.
Good to know about the frame rail to cylinder head and fan issue. Cheers.

Hello, there's a small article on the YB7/600 owned by Paul Murphy of Pro-Sport motorcycle restorations in Dundalk in Classic Motorcycle Mechanics March 2009 issue.

Cheers, MikeJ
