SV1000 is a de-tuned TL1000 motor so it would fit.
But if you want to go slower, it's easier to not open the throttle as much? Smile

They're more or less the same engine but they have different tune depending on the year as well as the bike they're for ... the engine ended up in the V-strom.
The Bimota engine has a better state of tune due to the fuel injection on them and as max HP is measured at the top end of the engine it's really only willy waving, you only use about 10% of the full power on a road.
As the speed increases you need a lot more power to go any faster but by that time the areodynamics mean more and as the SB8 has a better fairing there won't be a lot in it.

Did you know you can swap mates more easily than an engine ???

I've swapped loads of engines over the years but find it more difficult to swap mates as they keep coming back to borrow things Wink

the SV may produce 130bhp at the crank, but nowhere near it at the wheel. My SB8R will produce approx 138 - 142bhp at the crank allowing for frictional losses when tested on the dyno - it has 123bhp at the wheel.

Emptied the fuel out and there was about a small handful of water in the bottom..and not surprisingly a lot of shit...i only cleaned it out 5 months ago..i'm thinking i might put the fairing back on...
