I agree, I had a carbed version gixxer and traded it when the new fuel injection model came out assuming it would be better so didn't test ride it...doh. Wished I'd kept the old one straight away. Smoother, stronger and much more linear delivery. _________________ Pomps

Everyone seems to be very optimistic about this bike and the big presumption is that the engine isn't crackered totally.
would be an excellent excuse to build a 7/11 or in this case a 7/6 |

Having seen the bike a while back, you have to assume the injection system needs cleaning out, old stale fuel gone dry and hard. A power commander sorts out the running, once running that is!
the a new set of tyres chain and sprockets plus, plus, plus You could easily spend a grand or so,
However it is a SB7, which there are not to many about so to the right person you never can tell the price nowadays. |

It would make a nice 7/11 with a close ratio box but eaqually you could use some of the RF900 and get a big bore 750.
I'm not so certain the injection just needs cleaning, I thought the owner had done that, and dropping a couple of grand to find out isn't so appealing to me. _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

I seem perhaps optimistic for one good reason, I don't manage to buy it |

not this callsign! That was over the top for me especially as the registration is at question... Still, if he gets it going, new chain and sprockets, tyres, respray etc etc. for under a grand then maybe he'll come out evens? _________________ Pomps

the cynical side of me thinks he may have been bidding up thru a friend and it will re appear with a sorry story about being let down by the winner and having to re list... but then good luck to him. He was honest enough with the description a bikes worth what some one will pay, right? _________________ Pomps

Hi All,
I'm Gis from Germany. I registrated here last year and was reading the posts in the backround, but now I think it's time to come out from the shadow.
....I bought the SB7.
Why?
- from German stand point it's the right price- even it's a non-runner, here you don't see this model very often.
- in this coloring just a handful were assembled
- I have all the spares for the injection
- I also think it's just a fueling problem
- it seems that everything is original
- it's a rare model in the Bimota history
- I don't care about 87 reg, because I have to register here it again and can emend it to the correct year
So in a few days when the bike is in my shop I can see if it was a good deal or not.
regards
Gis |

welcome to the forum Gis...
Congratulations on winning the SB7, we can all stop speculating now
The main thing putting me off was the dodgy 87 registration but as you say, that won't be a problem for you
Keep us informed of your progress and we love pictures |
