Aye up.....Tesi Fun in the sun....good to see you finally dragged it out for a run on the Island....or was it the only one that started????

First impressions of it riding around the island then?

Good to see the full family in the background also...and new pup in tow also....and they suspended the parking just for you to put the Tesi there...nice....

How many times did you eat at the Italian restaurant this time around?? Laughing

Well a good few days for weather and got a few laps around the course.
Tesi ran well and engine freeing up nicely ( got 900 miles on it now !!) , suspension firm , but getting used to it, feels a bit strange as you become aware that the front wheel is following the swing arm radius and not sliding up and down the forks almost like bike is pivoting in the middle. , which of course it is. Hard to explain really.
Short wheelbase makes bike quite manoeuvrable and handled a good blast over the mountain well. Stable at speed and planted in corners. Was windy on the mountain but did not get blown of line at all.
Bike got a crowd where ever it was parked and interesting to just lurk in the background and listen to the comments. Usual stuff , work of art, Bimota gone bust, you know how it goes.

Oh yes , had to take something slightly different as its the Classic TT. Vdue went last year, so it was the DB4 , Tesi or the Santa , and as I have to fit the bike , 2 kids , wife and a dog into the van also the smallest bike won !!

If you ever make it to the TT/Manx etc , I am sure I can sort you out with something Brian.

I have some picture of the ZXR750's . I need to down load them and put a few up for you. Strangest thing though , zxr750 2nd / 3rd/4th , all got disqualified and no-one seems to be saying why.

Bruce Anstey came 5th I think in the Superbike race , which was a shame , was waiting for him to paste Mikey D as Bruce only lost last year after having to pit every lap on the YZR500 due to a broken exhaust bracket. Think the YZR had fuel issuess this year.Maybe next year the YZR will have it

Reasons are all over social Media...Practical sportbikes site etc etc.....They forced the kwacks to a full stripdown and they were all found to be 1mm overbore and hence not 750's......and everyone was complaining that the Dunlops etc didnt have theirs stripped despite them being the wrong engine for the era, wrong forks, etc etc.....lots of sour grapes and not in the spirit of the Manx TT....seems there was a lot of favourtism as to whos bikes were checked/stripped....who had their tanks measured, fuel checked and who did not.....not supposed to be any rules really...supposed to be "sympathetic" recreations, but evidently the box tickers seem to have gone a bit far this year......

I can see a lot of the less mainstream teams not bothering next year if they dont sort the rules out, or if they just throw the rules away would be a start....no prize money for teams or riders...but evidently good advertising for the riders and teams that win...and thus the smaller funded teams that gained good places lost out.....

Did have a quick scan the other day of social media but could'nt find anything.

Strangest thing this Classic TT. Was watching the TV coverage, and although I knew the XR69 were replicas it said on the TV most of the old classic stuff are also . So they are not classics then but as you say, modern reproductions .
Were as the RGV's , TZR's , NSR's and YZR's are all what they say they are , as are the ZXR's /RC30's etc , they are all the original bikes !!
To be honest what is in 1mm overbore, that is just a rebuild and rebore of a motor a few times. OK if they were 850cc or something, but a 750 90's machine against an 1100 80's reproduction !! , hardy a level field I think.

I think so.
To be honest I like the 90's stuff and getting a 750/800 to battle against an 1100 is great to see. All we need now is someone to enter an SB6 or SB7 Very Happy

Just wish Bruce on the YZR500 had a bit more luck . That thing is GREAT. Laughing
