I have a Bimota DB1 that has spent 30 years being stored in a lounge room since delivered by the Australian distributor in 1986.
It had been prepared for storage in 1986 and had never been started. The battery was sealed as it left the factory and never been filled with acid.
In July this year 2016, I had a ducati restorer flush the engine and moving parts of protective coatings, replace brake and clutch fluids and prepare the bike to start for the first time. The tyres were replaced and the bike started.
It has since travelled a mere 181 kms.
I will take it out from time to time but find it a bit small for me to use it on regular rides.
Should you be interested and want to see some photos please send a PM and I will forward photos. |
