I know that Paolo Girotti of Bimota Classic Parts has painted tri-color seat units and fairings.....otherwise theres a fibreglass bodywork company in Greece that does the fairings in their 5 sections and the seat units.....either in carbon fibre or fibreglass....but they come plain and would need painting..... |

I'm considering buying a new fairing (front and side sections) for my DB4 as my fairing is now in pretty ordinary shape. There's cracks at every one of the fastener holes. I've repaired them as best I can but it still looks like shit. The original plastic DB4 fairing is crap quality in my opinion and buying a NOS genuine one would just end the same way.
Thinking of buying a fibre glass copy from Perfect Fairings in Greece and then getting it painted to match the original. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Another option that I was thinking about was to buy a carbon fibre front, sides and tank/ seat unit and leave it carbon and apply some silver or gold decals then clear over the top? Not sure if it would be too much carbon or not.
Third option would be to buy the carbon fibre and then paint it to match the original.
Either of these carbon options would end up being pretty expensive though _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Will cost some pennies to be sure....not so much the panels....but the painting....if going that way maybe best to go for their carbon offerings instead of glassfibre?? |

Yeah, the carbon might look alright with the right decals. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

As I recall the fairings from Greece are replicas with the original painted item with decals used as mould. That results in visible "b" on the side panel and "bimota" and "db4" on the monocoque. Might come in handy when positioning the new details after the repaint....
I can't say anything about the quality and fit, because I don't have experience with them.
On the other hand: haven't seen a db4 with the tail section perfectly in the middle of the bike..... _________________ Track riding on a Bimota: FUN! |

I bought and fitted a carbon belly pan from them. The fit and finish was ok. The finish may need a bit of a spruce up if the entire bodywork is made of the same carbon fibre. The fact that the carbon bodywork has the impression from the original decals would make it difficult if not fitting the same decals I guess. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

The only thing is, the decal impressions are a mirror image... _________________ 02 aprilia RSVR Mille, 02 aprilia SL1000 Falco
