Not sure if a parts list would help.. As you have non standard wheels on yours....although I do have a Db1 spare parts catalogue that I could email you....sniped it from loud bike steven website when it was operative....generally the back wheel arrangement is same as Db2 with concentric in that the spindle, spacers, rear brake caliper hanger and concentric all lock and tighten together to press against the bearings... The half moon clamps simply hold it to the swinging arm, and spinning the assembly with the concentric is for chain adjustment....and ride height also... As the spindle can be set high or low as it is offset from centre. Basically the concentric have to be set to the same position...tightened by the half moon collars....then the securing pin on rhs fitted....and Allen bolt tightened to right torque.... There is a tool that would have been in the tool kit from new....basically a hex nut with two stub welding rods welded to it, that push into the locating holes on the eccentric, to turn to adjust the chain tension.....I have short lengths of alloy bar with a slot and bolts on it to push fit into the eccentrics....

With regard to the oil level mark, I'd say somebody has purposely adjusted the upper level mark. Maybe it was a result of fitting the 900ss engine? Does the 900 engine sit on a slightly different angle than it would have in the original bike?

It is an odd one....but I have seen this on other older 900 ss motors...usually 1990/1991 motors...maybe the sump crank or oil filter shrunk on later motors...as they all have min and max levels after that year....the max numbers and line are part of the casting...

Thanks guys,

The motor is 1990 go figure .

Now the Pistons are in and she's all buttoned up.

Have ordered a complete clutch, sure flex from Ian Gowanloch.

Should be here next week.

Now to remove the other engine cover and get the covers painted.

I will refit them when the motor is in the frame.

Busy busy,

Cheers

Weed,

It's an 848 with Termis and a few upgrades.

Went to put the swinger in and there are too many imperfections . Will have to give it a rub back and another coat.

Made up a new mudflap to protect the shock and back of motor.

Cases are ready for painting now.

I know you can't see the engine with the bodywork on but I would know that it was shabby.

With everything that has been done it deserves a tart up.

Best to do it while everything is accessible.

Waiting for the clutch now and redoing the swing arm.

Work this week so progress will slow down.

I feel at this stage that the Job is 45% done.

Just have to get it all back together. I have a few bits turning up for another bike in the Man Cave as well. I's my daily rider and needs some attention.

Here is a pic, the daily rider is the one closest to the door.

Can you guess what it is?

Cheers

Your doing a fab job on the db1, definitely worth all the hard work.

Bike by the door looks like a honda firestorm.

Waiting , Waiting , Waiting !

Need the clutch to continue with the reassembley.

Fitted some new cans to the Storm.

Sorry if I offend anyone on here but I am going to commit sacrilege and post a picture of , Dare I say it, a Honda.

You can't beat a V TWIN!

Will post pics when the Clutch turns up.

Cheers
