XR11/73? Thats a Suzuki GT750 motor in a GSX-R400 frame.

The R has ram air which goes under ghe fuel tank - ram air makes the airbox bigger so there's about 8 to 10 bhp more. The saddle is softer. It uses a single 12v battery. The swingarm is a bit stiffer. The forks have rebound as standard whereas the 6 it was an option. The original clocks stop working so you'll need to replace them (possibly with Koso)
The downside is the Antera wheels are heavy, the 6 Mk1 uses dymag style, and some 6 mk 2 use Macheisini. The 6 uses a speedo drive so it's harder to find lightweight wheels. Single piece fairing can be a pain to take off all ghe time
6R is a good update, 6 is prettier _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

Yes, the 6r is probably a better bike all around... but it's hard to go past the looks of the 6 _________________ Current motorcycles - '99 Bimota DB4 x 2, '96 Bimota SB6, ‘94 Bimota DB2 J, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, ‘94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, ‘61 BSA A10 650 |

6R has more timeless looks IMO, 6 is more a child of its time...... |

Personal choice I guess. To me the mufflers on the 6r don't look right and the bodywork looks a bit clunky _________________ Current motorcycles - '99 Bimota DB4 x 2, '96 Bimota SB6, ‘94 Bimota DB2 J, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, ‘94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, ‘61 BSA A10 650 |

Oh this could roll on and on!!!
I'm with you Brian !! 6 is the beautiful sister , 6R well , I'll leave it there !!
But beauty is in the eye of the beholder and probably upto your mate GK which bike he prefers .
Don't think there is a whole lot of difference performance wise, 6R might be slightly easier to work on, but then I never had an issue removing the one piece SB6 fairing. Yes there is a knack to it, as with the 45degree twist whilst slotting/rotating/sliding forward the seat/tank unit over the SB6 exhausts, but not rocket science to work out. All part of the Bimota ownership bonding process. |

Yeah I never have too much trouble with the 6 bodywork either. Took me a while to work out that you have to spread the lower supports on the seat/ tank unit and then pull up and back and 'do the twist' around the mufflers.
It's worth a little pain to have those looks _________________ Current motorcycles - '99 Bimota DB4 x 2, '96 Bimota SB6, ‘94 Bimota DB2 J, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, ‘94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, ‘61 BSA A10 650 |
