Dear All,
Time has come, and personal circumstances dictate that I will be shortly stepping down and away from the Bimota Forum....
Its been great for the last 7 years...good crack and a lot of new friends made and retained, you know who you are.
I'll be tailing off my presence...and whatever assistance I've tried to give, until the end of March this year...and as such am still fully onboard for the Annual BimotaForum presence at the Manchester Bike show 25th-27th March 2017.
For all those out there that are mid way through restoring their prized possessions, I'll chip in with help where needed, but only via email/telephone calls, physical hands on with a spanner for those local. I couldn't really leave any of those hanging.
Besides which...time for new blood to come to the fore....I often feel that I jump in and help too quickly whilst others out there may have been wishing/wanting to post...so step up...nows your chance
Until end of March...tailing off little by little...until I've finally weaned myself off it....
Cheers all

Oh noooo, we'll miss your encyclopedic knowledge. I've only been on for a couple years, really appreciate your information, help via pms. I don't know that anyone will fill your shoes.
One of my favorite posts is the one you wrote a year or so ago comparing your different bimotas. Based on that, a v-due is on my bucket list, don't know if I'll ever get to it though. More forum members read and value your input than you probably realize.
You're level of involvement will be sorely missed by newcomers and old timers.

Your contribution here Steve has been nothing short of amazing, when i first joined many years ago both You and Oily were a great help to me, i haven't been around for about 4 years as the SB6 is off the road, but i'm back with my YB5 and i see you are still providing knowledge that no one else has, and you go out of your way to find out answers to questions you don't know...
You have been a phenomenal asset to this community and you will be sadly missed....
Enjoy your retirement
I hope you are keeping all the Bimotas, if you sell them, you'd cause a world wide glut and prices would fall! _________________ Cheers

Totally agree. You are the Bimota encyclopedia and have helped out so many owners. Thanks for all your comments over the years. Good luck and I hope the withdrawal symptoms aren't too bad. |

Steve, just to echo the sentiments expressed above, your knowledge and enthusiasm will be greatly missed. It was down to meeting you at the Manchester Show a couple of years back and showing me around your DB1 that led me to eventually buying one. I am currently rebuilding the DB1 and your help and advice and leads on parts has been, as ever, invaluable. Hopefully stepping back will not mean your total withdrawl from this great community and we will continue to enjoy and benefit from any contribution you can make. _________________ Bimota DB1, Bimota YB5, Bimota YB6 Exup, Bimota YB9 SR, Ducati NCR Replica, Moto Guzzi 750 S3, Honda CR750 race replica, Seeley-Suzuki TR500 |

That's a shame - but on the brighter side I though you were announcing a death _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

Steve,
I totally understand about needing more personal time as I used to be a forum admin too on another forum.
As everyone else has already stated, your wealth of Bimota knowledge is really unsurpassed and you will be missed by all. I personally felt a lot more comfortable purchasing my DB6 knowing I had someone like you here that I could discuss the bike and it's nuances with. While I am sure that other members will chime in, your eventual absence will resonate throughout this forum.
With that said, I will PM you my info and should you ever find yourself in sunny Southern California for a holiday, you are welcome to stay at Chateau Quikduk anytime!
Best regards,
Ken |

Hey Steve, I guess all good things come to an end and so does your guidance on this forum. Not sure who will pick up and carry the torch and your departure will certainly impact the dynamics of this forum.
Your recommendations have been instrumental in helping me find my first Bimota. So thank you very much and all the best. _________________ 1991 Bimota YB10

Hi Steve, you have totally earned (semi) retirement and a quieter life and more time to do other things. I think we are all extremely grateful for the time that you have put in to this brilliant forum - the DEFINITIVE BIMOTA FORUM - and your readiness to help all of us.
I don't suppose anyone else outside the factory has your knowledge of these bikes, so we're all hoping you won't abandon us completely!
Above all, enjoy your Bimotas.

Steve kindly let me sit on his DB2 and enjoy some insight into 'Bimotamania' which was instrumental in me deciding to go ahead with my own DB2 purchase. His restoration threads (900ss and DB2) encouraged me to post up my own 'blow by blow' to hopefully act as some sort of reference in future. Always been available to offer advice and will be sorely missed.
Hopefully he will still get time for his collection of tricolour beauties and be a regular visitor to the Barn at Rivington Pike! _________________ Not as many bikes as I would like and already too many to keep up with! |

Holy crap, I hope this isn't due to some unpleasant issue! To say that you will be missed is an enormous understatement!
I would have been totally lost without your input after I acquired my DB5R!
As someone once said, so long and thank for all the fish! _________________ Spike C.
