Managed to strip the thread on the swinging arm nut - got over excited with a new torque wrench.

Long and short of it - I cannot find a replacement nut anywhere. Just wasted two hours sitting in a traffice jam in order to go to Hyperbolt. Got there and they said ' sorry mate, dont do those. Looks like a M14 - very unusual'.

Does anyone know where such a nut can be found, or even what size and thread pitch it is?

Hi, Sorry, can't help with the size or thread pitch, but just about any size is available from online suppliers these days, Pair of verniers and a thread pitch gauge will cost about a tenner on flea bay. Alternatively, bring it here and I'll measure it for U Wink

THanks for the offer Oily Laughing

To ease my guilt I was hoping to get a similar replacement to the nut I threaded. If not, it is not the end of the world as the nut is hidden under the cover.

Just rebuilt the bike and this is the only thing I broke, so not feel too guilty.....

He is making up some odd bolts for me for some Aprilia AF1s.

Okay found the size and a source. It is a M14 x 1.5 and the source is Probolt - they only do this nut size in Titanium and are out of stock at the moment. However, got hold of a couple of nyloc nuts the right size so can at least use the bike.
