Not had much Bimota time of late, been busy with other stuff.
Trying to do a bit of club level road racing this year as well. I was meant to race last weekend and this weekend coming, but I broke the gearbox in my CBR400 racebike last week. I have a new (2nd hand) engine coming from Melbourne which I will hopefully receive and fit to the frame tomorrow. If all goes well I'll be off to Townsville on Saturday to race _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Fingers crossed for you that the new motor arrives in time for you to fit and fettle it into a weapon before the meeting.. _________________ Cheers

Best of luck Brian, hope the engine arrives and you get it all sorted. Did you catch the bug in Sydney? I think the only cure could be an empty pocket.

If the engine IS what the seller said it is then I should be alright. I was told it's out of a bike that had 32000 klm s on it. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

I bought the bike in November last year Les. I've done 4 practice days on it but not actually raced it yet. I've had the bug for quite some time now, and yes, it's proving expensive _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Nice work on the Oz slang Stu.
Road racing in Aus is alive and well, buts no descent tracks North of Brisbane. The only tracks around here are cart tracks, so very small. But when that's all there is, you just buy a suitable bike. The 400 is really good on the small tracks. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Had a cbr400 gullarm my self years ago, lovely bike just had to rev the nuts of it.
Seem to remember a cbr600 rear shock was a good cheap mod at the time. |

I'll try to comit that to memory. Not sure what the rear shock is off thats on it at the moment. It has a remote reservoir. It's doing the job quite nicely anyway. The bike performs way better than the rider! _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

I quite like the frame and swing arm on the NC29.

Some chunky bits out of the sump of my engine. Not exactly sure what let go.

Good luck from me as well. I've got a VFR400 NC30 and a mates got a lovely clean CBR400.
I've not started the VFR since November, I'd left fuel in it, and the battery connected. I tried to start it the other day and found the battery was flat, not surprising. Put a new battery on, and pressed the starter. Before I even reached for the choke it fired into life! _________________ Bimotas, Yamaha FZR 2TK, Honda NC30, MV Agusta F3 800, Aprilia RS250 |

The new engine turned up this morning. Spent the day fitting it. It started no worries and appears to run fine. Test ride went well. Have now loaded up for the 400 klm trip to Townsville early tomorrow morning for race day _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |
