After dicking around for months and then having been dicked around by the insurance company I have finally received the V5 for the V Due. Was worried they were going to put it on an age related plate as I had already bought V3 DUE to go on it, obviously V2 DUE had already gone. Just need to get the number plate on it tonight and happy days.

Local car and bike show this weekend so will take it down to give all the old Brit bikers something to talk about. Guess they will all be Bimota experts and tell me that it doesn't work. Rolling Eyes

I got it registered using the German log book which had a date of first registration of 2003, so they gave it an 03 plate.

Well just had my first ride of the V Due today.

I first took my Yam 350 YPVS for a quick ride out to get a reference point. came back and jumped on the V Due, quick fill up at the petrol station and off we went.

The bike is far better than I was expecting, to be honest I don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't as good as this. The only down side is walking like John Wayne when I get off, the tank is far too wide at the seat. I am going to have to start saving up for a new tank to replace it.

Still got chicken strips on the new tyres, but in my defence I only had my jeans on. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

You probably know this already but just in case you don't know .
As you now have an 03 plate you can use your V3 DUE plate without any problems as it makes the bike appear older V at start of number plate 1999 , you cannot make the machine appear newer . You will have to pay the DVLA £80 to change the number plate for you .
My 2003 VDUE is registered with a 1979 V plate , V at the end of the number plate .

I just got mine an MOT after almost three years sitting in garage and apart from the clutch slipping it was a joy to ride .
I had forgotten just how much of a pleasure the V DUE was on a fast open road listening to the expansion chambers singing and experiencing that unique two stroke rush .
The Bimota V DUE is the equivalent to dating a super model , 90% of the time you have all the tantrums and heartache and high maintenance costs involved and you wonder if the remaining 10% is worth all the trouble .
Is it worth it ? Yes but make sure you are also dating a more rotund, plainer and frankly a more grateful common model as well !

Oh and one last thing , when out with your super model DO NOT be tempted to show her off in town , she will have a hissy fit , lose her cool and generally be a pain in the arse . Wink

Well the V DUE at the TT is the equivalent of a supermodel on the catwalk or a film premier red carpet event . No matter how troublesome and frustrating she is to live with she will enhance the lives of lesser mortals with the fleetest of glimpses .
You have put up with all the primadonna tantrums but now is the time to reap your rewards in envious looks and admiration in equal measures for even daring to think you have control over her destiny.
Your soft option will understand and wait patiently knowing that some things are just too beautiful to be locked in a cage .

Good job I have the mobile super model pampering salon Just in case the supermodel has to undress mid week fro a bit of TLC.

Don't want the lesser mortals getting to excited seeing a half naked supermodel Shocked there might be a crush with people trying to get a glimpse of bare carbon !! Laughing
