speaking with Piero this week it seems he has almost finished a run of carbon fairings for the Vdue and is about to let us know they are being offered. didn't say how much etc but at least would mean that bits stop falling off every time you take the fairing off. I wonder if he'll also take the opportunity to make them marginally wider around the air box so they fit properly too.

He's also going to send over, but I'll believe it when I see it, the standard carb settings setup for the bike with JM's installed.

Also noticed, after ordering new servo cables and some PV pins how much his spare parts prices have gone up over the years. Glad I managed to find most of the parts in a local fastenings place....

I realise this is an old post but did any Carbon fibre fairings get made for the V Due ?
Does anyone have one or know of any for sale ?
The standard side fairings are about as durable as a gas mantle ( you will need to be around 50 and have lived through the 70s power cuts to get this )

Guido Fiedler can have them made for you.

His username is Gufi on this board.
He is extremely knowledgeable about the Vdue and a pleasant guy as well.

There is also an Italian company that does Vdue fairings in glass fibre:
motoflash.it

Stuff_dk Laughing you're a star , thank you very much .
Has anyone tried V Due side fairings from motoflash.it ? I assume they are more durable than the originals ? Were they made a little wider to accommodate the carbon airboxs ?

I will also try Gufi to see what's available. Runesika

I have a Carbon fairing for mine, but the same as JRH its in the loft.

Was going to wait until I could afford the Carbon tank to go with it before fitting.

I guess if he's making for racing teams, they're reasonably crash proof? Is it a carbon/kevlar mix, because pure carbon would be brittle in the event of a serious twatting.

i think mine is just carbon fibre but i suppose he can make them in what you want but they are very very strong and very very light my tank is easily over half the weight of the std rs250 plastic acerbis tank . the fairings are probably half the weight of std fairings if not more again and very very strong and not as brittle as plastic items . i have a piece here from an off cut he sent so i could see the weave wafer thin stupid light and really strong

I don't think carbon tanks are allowed in racing or on the road in certain countries.
Bimota santamonica's had to have alloy tanks for some markets due to crash risk of carbon.
Plus carbon is brittle, as you say Kelvar has better abrasion properties and is also better for crash.

I got the fairing from Guido when I picked up my V Due from him. While I was there he showed me the Kevlar tank he had and said he could get them in Carbon as well. They had the two stroke oil tank integrated into the tank, more fuel volume and were a lot better shape where it meets the seat.

Was thinking of just getting my tank Carbon dipped for now until I have the spare cash.
