Armin Schneider of Bimota-teile had the Walbro software but I believe no leads to connect it . He does not speak English and is slow to reply , but might be worth a go.

Never had any issue with the running of my DB7 , first one I had was not great when I got it but that was down to carb balance.

Only problem I have had with the speedo was when I tried to start with a not so strong battery, the speedo throw a wobbler at that and read 7,000rpm for a while. No battery overnight and a fresh charge seemed to reset it next day.

Rough running could be down to duff fuel pump or TPS.

Thanks. I'm only to have a go with it at the weekend - strip it down and start from scratch. It only has 100 miles on it but is 2008 - so has stood a long time. If only it would go as good as it looks lol. I imported it from Germany a couple of months ago - bought it off mobile.de Anyway will see what happens. thanks again. Bob.

As the bike has been stood but obviously been used , probably been left with fuel in it , have you flushed and cleaned the fuel system/filters and injectors ? Might also want to check injector fuel feed pipes as its very tight under the tank and easy to trap a pipe and whilst there I would also renew pipes as mine was a 2008 and never run , after about 1k miles when 200miles from home the fuel pipes gave up the ghost and started pissing fuel from everywhere .

Thanks - will do. It did run ok when I took it out the first time - but that was only about 10 miles to the VOSA station to get a MSVA. I was off the MOT station when it wouldn't run. It'll keep me out of the pub at the weekend - well at least during the day lol. Even my sb7 runs better and that was a real dog to sort out - Goes well now though - so hopefully this will be sorted soon. thanks again for all your time and time. Much appreciated. Bob.

Vort28 - is there a special way of getting the fuel pipe off - or is it just a straight pull to get it off and on?? Sorry to ask just don't want to break it. Thanks. Bob.

Hi Bob.

I assume you mean quick release under the tank ,

You have to push the red coupling ring along the black coupling body to release the internal clips. Can't remember if you push away from coupling or towards it , but one way will release the coupling.

Hi Bob, I had the same problem with my DB7, the solution was a new starter motor. Ducati had fitted a bad batch they did not do a recall, customers who complained got a new one. The starter motor was turning over the engine but was robbing the engine of a spark, flooding the engine with fuel and fouling the plugs.
If you ask a ducati dealer they will confirm this as it is a known fault.
Before I found out about this I checked the fuel pump, plugs,ht coils and battery earth. If you still think its the ecu i do have the leads and my local dealer has the equipment.

Thanks Mick.. Been over the bike now - seems to run a lot better. Think the main problem was wit the plugs - they were badly oiled. I'm taking for an MOT tomorrow - so should be able to get a number plate for it soon. Then I'll run it in and get it set up on a dyne. I'll work on getting the software and lead in the meantime. FYI I got an email from biota saying the software was now run by TEXA. I gave them a cal - they are meant to be putting me in touch with someone local. Hopefully I hear from them soon. Thanks for all your help. Regards. Bob
