Hello everyone!

Another new guy here.
Been a mechanic and now an engineer.
Always messing with old motorcycles.
Over the last few years I have gotten into "special" framed bikes and wanted to add something "modern" to my garage.
Figured it might be time to search for a Bimota.

For me bikes are just pure fun. Everyone is a tool for a different type of fun though. I am not a track rider or an iron butt guy though.

Hope to be able to talk to some of the members here, ask questions and read/learn about these bikes.

Because pictures are fun.....
Some of my current and past bikes.

My chopper.
Built in 1974 out of a brand new Honda CB550


1970 Guzzi Ambassador.
My current main bike.


1974 Norton Commando with period Dunstall parts.
Was my daily ride for a while. I found it in a local barn.


1983 CB1100F
Always wanted one of these, but never really connected with it.


1974 Honda CB450
Another "barn find" that I cleaned up and rode all over the place.


1982 Honda CBX
Some times you just want the most complicated thing around.


1970 something CB/CR750
My never ending project.


Yetman framed CB77
SUPER lightweight 305cc race bike. Hope to knock it together over the winter.

Welcome to the forum mate. Some very nice bikes in your pics, I particularly like the Comando!

I would love one of the older bikes, but think something from the SB or YB range will be a better fit.

Want something useable on modern roads and "fast".
If that makes any sense.

Fear the DB series will push the budget to thin.

Well save the Mini DB1.
Have to have one of them!

I can personally vouch for the SB6, very capable and rides very nice. Beautifully made too, sometimes I just stare at it (with or without its bodywork on) and feel dirty Rolling Eyes

Thank you.
I worked as a mechanic (aircraft and yachts) for a while after high school.
Went back for my aerospace degree.
Now I work in the robotics industry.

really like the chopper and the other bikes. The YB11 can be a good choice and the prices are (relatively) reasonable,

My Bimota search began with an SB6R model but ended with the YB10. Ever since I've been partial to the Dieci. I don't have aGreat experience with the Bimota model range, my only other Bimota being the SB8R. The SB8R is an awesome bike in terms of engineering and performance, but is very ergonomic specific. Good if you are not very tall but with long reach.

Taking a test ride on an SB6R got me into this Bimota business, it's a very good bike and quite a looker.

Great job on the chopper, very clean and not over the top. The Ambo has always been my favorite.

A lot of my searching is returning SB6s and 8s.
I assume because they are at the funny age between "used" and "collectable" and the fact they made a bunch of them (for Bimota anyway)

The chopper does have some subtle qualities to it.
I didnt build it. It came to be via a close friend. He bought it from the builder. I tried for years to pry it from my buddy's collection. Finally winning a few years ago. VERY little has been changed since '74.
Fresh top end is going on it this winter, along with a period correct magneto ignition.
