Hello............not an advert for ointment or special treatment but a CALL TO ARMS
Still trying to acquire a DB9S.
If anyone is near the BIMOTA DB9S on South Austrailia as advertised in AUSBIKESALES.....it has been on there for ages and the owner may be dead by now...who knows!
I have tried to contact but with no joy...the website being totally partizan does NOT recognise any NON OZ phone number or postcode (the UK will be doing the same thing next year after BREXIT)
Please reply if you are up for a challange: which may involve: viewing, dealing, fighting and finally stripping bits off prior to sticking in a crate.
regards

sure Gav will chime in...but its the DB9S hes after.....single perimeter front disc...one 6pot caliper...all carbon black bodywork...but they only made 11 of them...2 seem to be in Oz...one in South Africa and one in UK...so he's hunting for one of 7 remaining which could be in any of the 50 countries they shipped to at their peak |

Did you manage to get the seller's phone number? If not, I can get the unlock code to get the number and send it to you.
I'd say the bike is still available. It's located in the the southern suburbs of Adelaide. |

Bud977,
This is exactly the type of basic assistance I need.
Crating and shipping ,I can arrange BUT unlocking the OZ based site and getting his number or contact details I cannot
Ideally the number will be sent by SMS to the Enquirer if the post code and number are ‘good’
Please do what you can and PM me

If recollection serves me right....when a Bimota dealer went bump a couple of years back...some brand new Bims went under the hammer for less than 10K a piece.....DB9 being one of them....just to give you a guide Gav...should be info on here somewhere for that |

Wow...3.5 years ago it was...they had 6 new bimotas for auction...no reserve...2 No. Db5R's...a Db10...and a DB9R...radial front disc...and what looked like a carbon frame in the pictures at the time.....they all went cheap...less than half UK list price at the time...and a fair few came back onto the market marked up of course by the new owners

Gentlemen,
Many thanks for the assistance....the bike sounds ideal and the DB9S owner is originally from Aberdeen in Scotland.
Dialogue now taking place and we shall see what happens
Once again the power of the TinTin Net shines through
regards

Looks like you have things in hand with the seller in SA Gavin but let us know if we can assist in any other way from this end.
One of the DB5R's from that auction is now sitting in my garage in Canberra. I bought the bike in 2015 from someone that bought 3 of the bikes. When it arrived it had 12km on it. Which was really 10km because the speedo is 25% too fast (I think it is because my Oz wheels have a different number of bolts in the disc carriers and they left the original setup for the Koso unit).
Funny to see the history of the bike pop up all this time later!

Very typical Bimota...throwing on the wrong Koso Unit....standard DB5's and Db6's do indeed share the same wheels with 4 disc bolts...and not the 5 disc bolts like used on Oz wheels.....so yeh...running 25% faster and more mileage...Only in Italy eh?? |
